Happy Halloween to all and to all a good night!

 We had a great Halloween weekend. Friday we went trick or treating to a few neighbors, Dan went golfing, then at night we went to a party at Bri and Wade's house. Saturday I had a volleyball tournament, we carved pumpkins, and the spent the rest of the night at the Kessler's house. We had mini mummy pizzas, mummy hot dogs, cantelope and pinneapple jack o lanterns, apple monster mouths, carrot fingers, witches brew with sweet pepper fire around it, a delicious squash soup, and bone breadsticks. It was so cold when it came time to trick or treat. The wind was blowing and it was raining. Madison and I almost made it to the first house, then we turned around. The rest of the kids stayed out for about 20 minutes. They got plenty of candy. After that we made hot chocolate and told the body parts story. Adam needs to work on his southern accent. He was trying to sound like a voodoo man or something, but it came out Jamaican. Good story though, freaked out Grayson a little bit:) After that the kids went downstairs and watched Scooby Doo and the adults got to relax and hang out. Now onto Thanksgiving... WE'LL BE IN DISNEYLAND!!!

Witches

Last week I took the kids and went to Gardiner Village with my mom. On the way there I told Grayson that we were going to see lots of witches. As many moms know that when kids start acting like stinkers you start throwing out empty threats or saying silly things just to get them to behave. Well silly me, I told Grayson that witches LOVE little boys' toes. They like to get em and mix them in their witches brew. Well little did I know what an impact that would have on him. He wasn't scared of the witches at Gardiner Village because they were all fake and my mom was telling him how these witches are nice witches. But everyday since then he has been asking about them, asking Daddy if he got in a fight with a witch who would win, asking if witches are in the mountains, telling me that he would kick a witch and punch her in the stomach and hit her with his light saber. One night after I put him to bed he came out of his room crying saying, "I dont want it to be Halloween. I never ever want Halloween. Just Christmas." I told him witches are just people dressed up in silly costumes. They're just pretend. The next day he still asked about them. Yesterday I went to Sally's and got some nailpolish for the Halloween season. I had a little epifany and ran in and told Grayson that if we have black and orange paint on our fingernails and toenails the witches will be scared of us and won't get us. He was really excited about that and I thought the matter to be squashed. Last night we took some food up the canyon and went to a camp spot to have a fire and roast marshmellows. "Mom, are there witches in the mountains?" Then, while he was playing in the fire lighting a long stick on fire he said, "If a witch ran up to me she would run into this stick and get burned." Hopefully he's not scared of Santa Claus when Christmas rolls around :)

Happy Birthday Dada!

Some people aren't just that photogenic :) ... and some people are. Madison for instance. She just knows how to work the camera.

Dan's birthday was on Thursday... big 35. No big deal for him, but it's hard for me to believe. From here on out he will be turning 35 every year. What a lucky man, I have just given him the gift of agelessness. I'm kind of dumb and didn't take any pictures of him on his bday. Only got a few of Madison playing with his balloons. I took him a huge plate of cupcakes and rounded up a bunch of people in his office and sang to him while he blew out his candles. We also brought him balloons which included a mylar Batman balloon and Grayson got him some matchbox cars. Trying to make him feel younger I guess. Everyone in the office appreciated it because they got cupcakes. Why is in when people are in an office setting they will eat ANYTHING that is brought to them for free? I mean that's how I was when I was at work. It's like you know how fast it's going to go, so you just scarf it down and then end up regretting it a couple pounds later.
