Lake Powell without Daddy

We had a great time in Lake Powell with my parents. I talked my dad into getting away from Bullfrog on this trip, so we rode down to Escalante and found an awesome place to sleep for the night. It's the picture of the huge island rock wall with sand to the left. We beached the boat there and woke up the next morning to the most beautiful glassy water I've ever seen at Lake Powell. The kids both enjoyed the water and the boat very much. Grayson and I jumped off the boat in Cathedral Canyon and swam to a nice little place to hike. We were in the shade and the water was dark so Grayson freaked out a little...(he threw a tantrum as Papa lowered him to me in the water and screamed all the way to the shore. Oh, and it echoed like crazy!) but other than that he really loved the water. He jumped off the swim platform and even went tubing by himself. Madison loved helping Papa drive and sitting on the swim platform splashing her feet. 

A funny little tidbit... we left Wednesday afternoon and stayed in the hotel that night. When Grandma and Papa woke up the next morning they both showered... and then by Friday night both were itching for cleanliness again. So as usual, they shampoo their hair in the lake and shave. I'm like seriously guys can't you go 3 days without a shower!?! However I did discover a little B.O. of my own so I decided to soap the pits. It is very fun going with my parents, they always want to make sure everyone is happy and always have pretty decent food for camping on a boat. I always look forward to these trips. Hopefully we can go again a couple of times before the summer is over.

New Blanket

Grandma made Madison a new blanket for her baby that she never plays with... well, she sure plays with it now! I swaddled the baby and then taught her how to rock the baby and pat her bum... now she will walk around with it and rock back and forth. If it comes unwrapped she brings me the baby and blanket and yells until I wrap it for her. And of course Grayson had to get in on the action!!

The Pool,Softball, Little Gym, and my little hungry monkey

So far our summer has been great! Unless it's raining we are pretty much at the pool everyday. The kids love it and it is free! Awesome.
Dan's softball team won last night which is a pretty big deal considering they're kind of in the wrong league...(it was so amazing my parents took us to Bonzai to celebrate) I go with the kids every week and cheer for them. We have a nice time, Grayson usually makes friends at the playground and Madison walks around and finds a dog to maul or finds rotten food or garbage and tries to put it in her mouth.
Grayson had his last little gym class and did really great when showing off his newly learned talents. The best part was the beginning... the kids started behind a door and were supposed to run out onto the big red mat and show everyone a special trick. Most kids did a donkey kick or a forward roll. When Grayson came out he ran as fast as he could and sat on my lap. I started laughing and he said "Mama did you see me run as fast as Lighting?" Apparently that is his special trick. What a kid.
Madison is quite the monkey lately. She will climb on anything and everything. Tonight after dinner it seems she was still hungry. So she took matters into her own hands and climbed on the table and dug in.
Tomorrow I have my 100 mile bike ride for the American Diabetes Association. It's supposed to rain! BLAH! Thanks to all those who donated!! I will be posting pictures of that if in fact I live through the ordeal.

Peek-a-boo!

Today Madison was opening and closing the door playing peek-a-boo and I just had to share the pictures of her sweet little smile. She's got a good set of chompers on her! And just like always, when Madison is doing something, Grayson has to get in on the action.
I also wanted to throw in a picture from Dan and my anniversary. #4 baby! We had a great time, we went and got a couples massage, had dinner at Tiburon, and went to see Iron Man 2. The massage was my favorite part, except I had a cold and had to keep blowing my nose and I felt bad because I didn't want to gross anyone out. Oh and the kids slept at Grandma and Papa's house so we could have a night to ourselves.Thanks parentals!
Grayson is Mr. Negotiator these days. If it's at the end of the day (as pictured above) he starts having little melt downs and he pulls the sweetest saddest faces. He's quite convincing.
